How Your Manuka Honey Is Tested

If you don’t know what Active Manuka Honey is, you should read about it first.

We predict Your Pure Honey for 2009-2010 will be Active +12 or higher.

We can make that predication, because for the last three years we have averaged +14. You can see our actual test results below.

All the beehives in a Premium Partnership will be tested when the honey is collected. Those clients will know the exact activity of their honey. For our Syndicate and Community Partnerships we’ll tell you the results of the tests, and give you an average for your beehive.

Our Manuka Honey is tested for activity by an independent laboratory, DHM Labs.

The lab uses the test originally developed by Professor Peter Molan and Waikato University’s Honey Research Unit.
Below is a test from last year. You can click on the thumbnails at the very bottom of this page to see more results. The column to the right measures the special activity only found in Manuka Honey. As you can see we’ve always been above +12 and usually around +14 to +15. We’ll try and get your beehive the highest activity we can.
