Our Limited Edition Honey comes from just one beehive. The queen bee in the hive has a unique personality and directs the worker bees to gather in a different way than the other hives. This means you’ll get a gourmet taste that really is found nowhere else.
It’s hard to describe the taste in words. It’s like golden caramel, but not sickly. It has honey’s purity, and yet it tastes like a dessert. It’s rich and nourishing and wholesome. The only was to understand something this unique is to try it.
Honey With An Adventure Story

As you probably realise, Active Manuka Honey is a powerful healer and a natural antibacterial food. It’s been proven at universities and hospitals around the world.

Laboratory tests have been developed to measure the amount of “activity” or medicinal goodness in the Manuka Honey. However, if you’re buying the honey outside of New Zealand it’s a risky business, as many unscrupulous sellers are known to use deceptive labeling and advertising.
All the Limited Edition Manuka Honey we sell is guaranteed to be at least +12 activity, or more. (+12 is quite a high activity, with really good medical properties.) But we don’t expect you to just believe us.
Each individual beehive has an activity test at a laboratory. Every jar we send out has a copy of the test results included. You get to see everything and have full traceability.
The test lab uses the test originally developed by Professor Peter Molan and Waikato University’s Honey Research Unit.

Common Questions:
Isn’t that expensive?
The value of the honey is great, nowhere else can you get unblended Manuka Honey. If you go to your local health shop you’ll probably find our price compares Also don’t forget the prices include international shipping. If it’s still too much for you, consider a part hive, or order individual jars.
What about the air miles on the honey?
Yes there are air miles if you live a long way from New Zealand. However this is well and truly offset by the two hectares (or five acres) of native forest that each beehive provides for.
We tried to do the maths on how much carbon is produced by sending the honey overseas and then how much is counteracted by the forest. We found there were too many complications and guesses involved to give an accurate answer. The best conclusion we could arrive at is that this honey definitely has a positive impact on the environment.
I try to buy local produce, why should I have my own hive in New Zealand?
We understand and the support the movement to eat local food. For some people NZ isn’t very local! We think of Your Pure Honey as “local +.” It’s great to support your local bee keepers and eat honey you source locally. And also, get Manuka Honey or have your own beehive in New Zealand.
There are some things you just can’t get locally, and Manuka Honey is one of those. To get the health benefits of Manuka Honey from something else, you’d probably be buying a pharmaceutical product which certainly wouldn’t be local.
